Malliouhana vs. Cuisinart
So we have decided on Anguilla. Now its a question of which resort. 6 nights in November. Rate at Malliouhana is $250. Cuisinart is $385. Worth the extra $$$ to go Cuisinart? Is there anything for a 4 year old boy to do at Cuisinart? Kids pool or activities?

I would spend the extra money and go for Cuisinart. They have a very nice pool for the kids and the water at the beach is pretty tame for swimming. I don't think they have a kids program there, but they will find things to do.
We are huge fans of Cuisinart and would definately recommend it.

Malli has the kid's pool and pirate ship thing -- really cool for young-uns. If you're thinking of a villa, check www.mycaribbean.com -- nice selection and you can search by f bedrooms, pool, etc. The beaches in Anguilla, however, are set aside for resorts and restaurants and so most villas are not directly on a beach.

The people I know who stay regularly at Malli are very, very positive about it and I have never heard that it's rundown. I can tell you that the grounds, restaurants and bar areas are beautifully maintained.

P.S. One other thing though: Malli doesn't allow young children in its dining room after a certain hour. However, neither Malli nor CuisinArt would be places that would make my dinner list given the 80 other restaurants on the island (Malli's worth the trip for lunch though).

Malli has some rooms on the beach and the remainder are up on a bluff. They have supervision at the Pirate Ship in the playground, which is near a family pool and a casual restaurant with a kids' menu. I was there last November and did not think it was run down. Cuisinart is newer, though, so it is shinier and brighter. I'm not sure which I would recommend with kids. Anguilla is not a place with a lot of kids' programs. You pretty much make your own fun there. You may also want to consider a boutique hotel with kitchen and lounges.
