Last Minute St. John
At long last, we're finally getting our last minute return to St. John! Just booked a short trip (5 days) for DH's birthday only 4 days ahead of time. Decided to go for it when I checked the airfare and found that from Bradley in Connecticut it is $514. all fees and taxes included, which is only slightly more than the usual. I'll be sure to update my information on St. John for all of you Fodorites while I am there. Hey, Trish and Christie, I'll be thinking of all you fellow St. John fans during a full moon dinner at Miss Lucy's!

Hi Tux! I'm green with envy...I'm booked at Little Plantation in Coral Bay for 2 weeks, but not 'til May! Oh how I wish I could escape to STJ for Thanksgiving and leave all my family here in NJ.
$512 sounds good for last minute. I'm seeing $446 on CO for May...think I can do any better if I wait?
Have a fantastic time...take & post some pics for those of us who need a fix! Trish

Thanks for your thoughts. Brenandg: I thought I read on another post that you had to cancel your plans for STJ due to family health issues. I hope it is nothing too serious and that whoever it is will get well soon so that you might resume your planning.

tuxedocat,
Thanks for your thoughts also. My FIL is recently in Hospice care with a very poor prognosis. We just didn't feel comfortable or responsible for that matter leaving now. DH and I agree that some Caribbean therapy will be in order after this ordeal is over. It will be a low key trip, but nonetheless, therapy. I really do look forward to STJ. Think I am going to love not only STJ, but the area in general. Some trips to the BVI's are on the adgenda. Enjoy your trip and Happy Birthday to DH. I'll have to live vicariously through you travelers for a while.

Many thanks for everyone's kind wishes. It somehow adds to my enjoyment of St. John when I know that there are people out there that also love it. It's really going to feel like "Love City." Brenandg: You will indeed love the entire area. It'll be here for you when you're ready. Best wishes to you and your family. I'll post when we get back.
