Cheapest place to stay in St. John?
Hi everyone. After much consideration, I've decided to go to St. John in April. There will be 5 of us. Can you recommend any condo's or villa's that sleep 3 women and 2 men comfortably? None are couples. We don't need anything luxurious. Just need a bathroom, kitchen and beds. I was hoping for 5 bunk beds at 200 or less per night? Just like a hunting lodge in the US. We don't care where we stay on the island. Please help! Thanks so much!

You can find a wide assortment of villas (check out seaviewhomes.com) on St. John that may fit your requirements. If you are traveling after the 15th of April, most have "low" season rates which are considerably less than the "high" season rates. Another option, if you can handle more rustic accomodations are the campgrounds at Cinnamon Bay or Maho Bay. They have tents and "cottages" available. The website is www.cinnamonbay.com

Maho Bay & Estate Concordia have "eco-tents" which could be a good option.
They're pretty solid wood framed tents with screen & canvas stretched over them, have mini-kitchens, solar showers & composting toilets. Its' really rather nice and they sleep up to 6 people. I'd probaby opt for one for girls and one for guys in your case.

I stayed in them for my honeymoon in 2003. my pics including ones of the tents: www.pbase.com/tpatricco click on the pics for St John May 2003. Trish

Glad I could help Michelle! Let me know if you have any other questions.
We stayed at the tents in Concordia, but I think the setups are the same.
I've heard take bug spray with deet for Maho. Concordia is breezy enough to blow the bugs away instead!
We love STJ - will be back there for 2 weeks in May. Can't wait! Trish
