What happened to the Maho Bay Campground property on St. John?

We used to love camping at Maho Bay Campgrounds on St. John. It closed in 2013, but we never found out what happened to the property--is there development there?
Can anyone recommend a eco camping substitute on St. John or elsewhere?

Someone wealthy bought the property. I can't remember his name. It does not appear that it is going to be developed and currently is not. For eco camping on St John you could look at Cinnamon Bay Campground or Concordia.

The owner of Maho Bay Campground had a lease on the property that expired. He also owns Concordia.

According to a recent interview in the St John Tradwinds with Stanley Selingut, the owner of Maho and Concordia, Maho was purchased by a wealthy American for a private family compound.
