Is RWI far from all the restaurants?
Hi there,
Just a quick question....How far away is RWI to the restaurants and OCW and Coral Gardens?
If we stay at RWI are we going to be far away from everything? We haven't booked our hotel yet...should we switch to OCW?
Thanks for your help

We stayed at Ocean Club and walked (on the beach) to Mango Reef (RWI restaurant) and Anacaona (Grace Bay Club rest). I think Anacaona is right next to OC West. Coral Gardens is a ways down the beach, we needed a car to get there. OC is at the very end, then there is Club Med, which goes on forever, then RWI, and then Grace Bay Club.

Hi Petula,
RWI is not very far from OCW, and easy walk down the beach. However, OCW is closer to several restaurants and shopping at Ports of Call. Coral Gardens is quite far away and would require a car or a LONG walk down the beach. One thing, OCW does have a free shuttle between there and OC, which goes all day. They also have shuttles that take you to Restaurants and the IGA, although there is a charge for those. Much less than a taxi would be. I'm not sure about RWI, but you should check, they might have shuttles also.
They are both nice properties, can't go wrong with either.

RWI is within walking distance to Ports of Call which has Caicos Cafe, Barefoot Cafe & Calico Jack's. You can also walk to Bella Luna & Fairway's. Danny Buoy's is walkable but a little bit further. Ocean Club West is only two properties down from RWI.Coral Gardens is about three miles down the beach & further away from the restaurants. I would stick with RWI. Also you can use the hobies & bikes & snorkel stuff complimentary & I dont believe you can do so at Ocean Clubs.I would choose RWI.

It all depends on how far you want to walk. Pretty good distances between resorts. Be advised that there are very few sidewalks on Provo and you will be walking in the road at night. Suggest bringing a flashlight. I would probably switch to OCW because of the shuttle to Gecko Grill at OC and the IGA. OCW is close to Ports of Call shopping plaza and Barefoot Cafe and Calico Jacks. Go Fri night when they have live music. Danny Buoys is an irish pub and fun with good food. Anacona at Grace Bay club is very nice and romantic--Expensive but they have live music on Wed, Fri and Sat night and you can go and have an after dinner drink. Caicos Cafe is next to Ports of Call. One place that hasn't been mentioned is Coco Bistro which is walkable. Between OCW and RWI. From OCW it is about a mile to Hemmingways at the Sands which is very good. OC west does have a water sports facility on the beach but don't know if it is complimentary.

OCW is pretty close to RWI, just a few resorts between them. OCW is closer to Ports of Call, but not really a big deal. Both resorts are nice. Mango Reef at RWI is the nicer of the two restaurants. The landscaping and architecture at RWI is nicer. Hobies, bikes, snorkel equip, and kayaks are free to use at RWI. OCW charges for use of same. Both charge for shuttle to IGA, and I'm not sure guests at OCW would bother to go to OC, it is older and not as nice. I am really splitting hairs! You really can't go wrong with either resort and I don't think location, in relation to restaurants, is much different. I would go to whichever you can get the best price!
