How early to buy airline tickets?

I'm travelling with a friend from Boston to Anguilla in March; how soon should I think about buying tickets? Right now, the cheapest I can find are about $480 (from flycheapabroad.com); should I hold out?

Sorry...should have said we're actually flying to St. Maarten and taking the ferry!

I've lost every time I have tried playing the "wait for the cheapest ticket" game. I have found the earlier I get my ticket, the cheaper.

$480 sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

Personally I wouldn't wait much longer. $480 is not bad at all.
Did you check directly with American Airlines?
AA has flights March 15-22 RT Boston to Anguilla for $470

Also AA from Boston to St. Maarten for the same dates has flights for $493

I lost at this while waiting to watch fares to go to T&C in Feb. In one week's time, to get the same itinerary for hubby and me, the fares jumped over $700!

I've been watching the fares ever since they first started quoting prices for that time frame and I should have bought them as soon as they became available.

Someone posted a link here yesterday to an article in a travel magazine that talked about airfares going up significantly in the very near future.

$480 isn't bad and I think I would go for it.
