Hotel Ideas

Hello! We are planning a trip to T&C for this Nov. and trying to decide where we'd like to stay...We have a 2.5 year old & an infant so Beaches appeals to me for obvious reasons...but we're not particularly crazy about AI vacations.

Sooooo, we were wondering what the other resorts/hotels were like...particularly dining options. We'd love a place where there are several options/variety within walking distance or a short cab ride. (really would prefer to not have to bring car seats)

Anyone have any insight, thoughts or opinions you can share?

Thanks so much!

You may want to check out Ocean Club West. You have a full kitchen in your room so you can go to the IGA to get food to prepare in room. There is one restaurant on site. Across the road there are several dining options in the small shopping center. Anacaona at Grace Bay Club is also a few steps down the beach. They have a free shuttle to the orignal Ocean Club that has 2 restaurants as well. We stayed here in November of 2002 and would definitely consider it with small children.
Hope this helps!

Here's another vote for OCW. It's a family friendly invironment. They also offer free shuttle to the original Ocean Club where you'll find more dining options and be able to use all the reort facilities.

We would not necessarily recommend Ocean Club West at this time. There is construction on both sides of the resort, which has been described on other websites as loud "with jackhammering going on." We originally booked at Ocean Club (OCE), and at first thought we wanted to move to OCW because it has somewhat nicer grounds, closer to other restaurants, etc. We didn't find the construction to be overwhelming but rather a nuisance, we decided not to move after eating lunch there...the staff seemed very aloof, which is not the case with the overly friendly staff at OCE. Besides, the shuttle will take you from OCE to OCW and back, and we never waited more than 5 minutes for a ride.
