Honeymoon Help

My fiance and I are trying to plan a honeymoon in the caribbean. Have no clue where to go. Negative, we are going high time Dec. 20-28 so prices are very high.

Any thoughts and/or suggestions on where to go? Some places we have considered: Sandals Halcyon St. Lucia, Rendezvous St. Lucia, Arawak Beach Inn Anguilla, Montpelier Nevis. Not attached to anything/open to suggestion.

We would like quieter (but may go out 1 or 2 nights), beautiful beach, nice but doesn't have to be the Four Seasons. HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Why not check out www.tikaye.com if you are interested in St. Lucia. Just as an aside, St. Lucia is beautiful but does not possess the best Caribbean beaches. . .

St. Lucia is not a definite decision. Just one of the places suggested to us and considering. We are open to suggestions of other places to go.

Any thoughts, ideas?

Anguilla would be great for a honeymoon (peaceful, quiet). We visited Anguilla in 98 and were impressed with the beautiful beaches. We've been to other Caribbean islands (BVI, Curacao, Cancun) but nothing compares to Anguilla's white sand beaches and calm clear blue water. Its not too touristy so you may be disappointed with the island if you're looking for nightlife. Anguilla also has great (expensive) restaurants. Cant comment on your choice of accomodations. We stayed at the Sonnesta (beautiful hotel and reasonably priced) which does not exist anymore.

hi Jeff,

I don't know if you have discovered tripadvisor.com....but there are some glowing reviews of Montpelier Plantation from couples who have spent their honeymoon there.

You might also want to look into Rendezvous Bay Hotel in Anguilla. The staff there makes extra efforts for honeymooners. It's on a stunning beach...and Anguilla offers so much.

I stayed for two weeks at the Jamaica Inn this Spring and it was heaven ;-) ! I met several couples honeymooning and many more who return for special anniversaries. It is such a romantic place. Dinner and dancing *under the stars* each night....pretty special.

You are right...this will be a costly time of year , and you may find that some places may already be booked. So I would advise that you do some reading soon !

Congratulations !

Marion

Grenada is a great suggestion. We recently stayed at Bel Air Plantation. Wonderful small resort, great restaurant and very romantic.

We celbrated our 25th anniversary at the Royal Hideaway in Playa del Carmen. It was more than perfect. Nice beach (not the best, that would be Provo, Turks and Caicos), beautiful water. Royal Hideaway will give you an experience like none you'ver ever had. I would definitely recommend it for a honeymoon.
