Final Advice and Travel Tips
We are leaving for a trip to Provo in 3 weeks and are very excited with a little apprehension...been reading the news lately of crime continuing to climb. Anyone had any bad or good experiences to share??? Any advice on places not to travel to on island or things to avoid? Jelly fish gone??? Thank you for all your input in advance!

Crime hasn't increased, it's decreased! Do everything you're Mom taught you, lock doors and windows at night or when not at home, don't leave belongings on the beach or in a car unattended, walk alone at night, ......Things that should always be done regardless of where you go, and it will help your chances for a wonderful vacation. The same chances you would do at home--economies and crime is bad everywhere in the world, just take normal steps to minimize your chances.
Stay in the tourist areas, you'll be fine. Resorts have security.
Check out www.WhereWhenHow.com for ideas on excursions, what to do. When you land, at the airport and supermarkets, pick up a copy of Where When How magazine (Free) and the Dining Guide.

Thanks Blamona...My Mom, and whole family, will be with me, so I will follow her rules!!! We aren't staying at a Resort, we are renting a villa on the beach at Sapodilla Bay. I am very excited, just a little nervous because I've never been to Provo and being the director of this trip for my family, I want everything to be perfect. Can you remind me or where the dock is to buy local fish? Do you know?

Fresh fish is at Five Cays-the boats come in around 3:30. They can even filet it for you.
Especially at a villa, keep your windows and doors locked at night, even if there's a surcharge for A/C-worth it in todays economies.
Make sure to do a Caicos Dream Tours excursion, going out to those cays, the beaches are amazing!
Sapadilla Bay is really cool-like a giant wading pool-shallow for hundreds of yards, easy to float on a float, great for small kids-they get giddy.
Across from there you have Las Brisas, which is excellent, and you can kayak Chalk Sound from there-you will never see more turquoise water than there-it glows!
If the villa doesn't have chairs or umbrellas, you can buy some at IGA supermarket for $25 well worth it to hang out at Grace Bay-one of the world's most beautiful beaches.
Do you already have a car rental?
Try to hang out in front of Windsong or Coral Gardens 1 day-excellent snorkeling from the shore, SNUBA at Windsong. Banana boats and parasailing from Grace Bay for the brave ones.
Make sure to do Caribbean night at O'Soleil (The Somerset Resort) ON the beach Tuesday nights. $42 all you can eat-jerk chicken, ribs, etc, live music by NaDa, wiggling toes in the sand at night-priceless! If full moon, they'll be a pig roast with S'mores and bonfire on the beach another night too at Bay Bistro.
Rib night at Tiki Hut Wednesday nights is only $13 per person. If you have 5 or more people in your family, you should make reservations.
Thursday night at Somewhere On The Beach at Coral Gardens, TexMex food, live music, cool atmosphere.
Try Da Conch Shack at Blue Hills for lunch--a little colorful shack on the beach with the food of T&C-it's an institution.
Go to Pelican Beach in Leeward, you can find huge white conch shells you can bring home (2 allowed per person)
If you want 1 upscale restaurant-try Coco Bistro, the best on the island.
Go next door to Taylor Bay-you'll find starfish in the water.
Have fun!

Thanks for the wonderful advice...I think we are going to rent one van and then if we need another car, we will get one. I think I'm going to use Scooter Bobs. What do you about cell phone's down there? Will ours work?
