advice for honeymoon in TCI
My fiancee and myself (both 26 years old) will be spending our honeymoon during the first week of June at the Wymara (Gansevoort) on Grace Bay. We chose Prove because beautiful beaches with awesome water and great food were the most important things to us. We love the beach and sun. We'd originally booked a butler suite at Sandals whitehouse but decided against it with all the talk of seagrass etc.
We were trying to have some kind of plan for the week because I've read some of the excursions get full. We were thinking about renting a jeep for 2 days or so to do exploring but were planning on using taxis the other days because we like to have drinks. We have heard good things about SNUBA so we think we'll want to do that maybe twice. We plan on about spending about 2000-2500 or so for the 7 days if that's possible after we pay for the room. What restaurants can we not miss? I think we will do lunch in the room several days because we like to eat very light during the day. We want an unforgettable trip as I will be working my butt off for the next 6 years in my residency.
Any/all advice is welcome. Blamona?? You have earned your reputation as the expert on Provo

My best advice? Take me with you! I'll give you the "Blamona" tours for free! ;-)
Was Sandals Whitehouse in Jamaica?
You'll be fine signing up for excursions 1-2 days before. If your there for a week, you find a day to go out.
One of my favorites is Caicos Dream Tours. I prefer a full day over half, but if obly going out half a day I'll take it! It goes to the reef and snorkels, dive for conch in waist high water, stop at stunning Half Moon Bay (one of the most amazing beaches in the world) full day adds snorkeling for sand dollars, and a terrific picnic lunch at Ft. George.
If you want to be romantic, a couple of excursion companies can set you up on a "beach getaway". They drop you off by boat, with umbrella, lounge chairs, food drinks, usually at Half Moon Bay, where you can explore, eat, and hang out on that gorgeous beach-mostly to yourselves all day. (Excursion companies will stop on these beaches, usually stay about 45 minutes--but you'll have other little coves and such)
Another romantic option, and many of the restaurants can do this: at night they will set up a table ON the beach by the shore--with tiki torches and candles and flowers--again amazing.
If you're around a full moon, than do not miss Bay Bistro's pig roast on the beach with bonfire and S'Mores.
My restaurant lineup:
Tuesday night lobster madness (or clam bake when not lobster season) with live music on the beach.
Wed night Tiki Hut rib night for $13
Thur night dinner at Hemingways with live music, followed by drinks at Somewhere On The Beach with live music
Fri nights, patio dining tapas with live music at O'Soliel
Sat night diner at Bagatelle with DJs
Whatever night left over definitely do not miss Coco Bistro, the best restaurant on the island, or Coyaba's, also excellent.
Definitely have drinks 1 night at Anacaona, the most beautiful setting in the Caribbean, next to the beach, with couches, beds, firepits, tiki torches, with the world's longest Infinity bar.
www.WhereWhenHow.com has all the info you need, and you can pick up the magazine for free, along with the companion dining guide, all over the island, including the airport and supermarkets. You can also email them now, in about 2 weeks you'll receive a copy in the mail. I personally subscribe to it, it's great for plans before you arrive, great for phone numbers once you're there, and great to relive once you return.
www.WhereWhenHow.tc has menus, prices etc of all the restaurants.
www.TCIenews.com changes every Wed, but will announce events, happenings, parties, and dinner restaurant specials.
SNUBA is awesome. You can also snorkel for free next to it at Coral Gardens, right off the beach. The grass patches next to that you swim with turtles.
Most of Grace Bay Beach (12 miles) is pure clean nonrocky sand with the prettiest turquoise you'll ever lay eyes on.
When you have a car, explore Chalk Sound (mind boggling turquoise) Sapadilla Bay, Taylor Bay, Pelican Beach, Malcolm's Beach, and Da Conch Shack at Blue Hills. At Blue Hills, take pictures of the really colorful buildings at the beach, they'll make you giddy.
You can even ferry over to North Caicos, rent a car and drive over to Mudjin Harbour in Middle Caicos, it's impressive! (and secluded) You'll probably pass ponds with flamingos on the way.
I highly recommend you buying Fodor's In Focus: Turks and Caicos. Not only because I wrote it, but it's compact enough to carry, yet has great info in it (if I don't say so myself) and some pages for your own notes.
Congratulations and have fun!

One of our favorite excursions in T & C was the 2 hour guided jet ski tour over to the South side. The water was so clear and the sand so white that from a distance it looked like snow. We did some exploring and then he took us over to look at some starfish. It was with Sun and Fun Sea Sports.
We also enjoyed the full day catamaran and snorkeling with Sail Provo. On our way back we had 2 dolphins following us.
For something romantic we did the Reef Peepers sunset cocktail cruise. They sail along Grace Bay in a glass bottom boat with cocktails and appertizers until sunset. We saw Nurse sharks through the glass. They pick up and drop off at the marina, so we had dinner at the Shark Bite overlooking the water after the cruise.

Thanks so much for the advice. We are super excited. I'm still not sure about renting a car though. People say that taxis are expensive, but what is "expensive?" Like I have said, we do not wish to drink and drive and usually have drinks throughout the day and at dinner. Also, my fiancee (wife by then) will have her 26th birthday during our week in Provo. I want to have a fine private dinner on the beach. Where would be best place to do this and can it be done for 200 or maybe a little less?
