Our first trip to GC was in May, and we got 4 days of rain out of 10. Rent a car, and on certain days you can drive to the other end of the island and find the sun. To answer your question is impossible, it's weather. But yes, may is the rainy season for GC.
Our 2nd trip wwas in March, and never saw a drop of rain for 10 days.

We travel to Grand Cayman at the end of April every year, so we leave just prior to May
, but that last week of April is perfection. You may get a rain of short duration [say less than 5 minutes], but if you do, it is over in a jiffy usually.

I was there mid-may to mid-June last year. We didn't have a drop of rain until the first week in June, and that was TS Arlene! For the daily showers that can happen on any island in the tropics, you are less likely to get rain on your head the farther east you are. East End and North side get less rain than George Town and Seven Mile Beach.
