Cayman: Stingray City vs Sandbar
Another Cayman question: Is there a difference between Stingray City and Stingray Sandbar? Some posts talk about 12 foot deep water and others talk of water that is 3-4 ft deep. Does it matter if you go at high or low tide? Thanks

McQ...
We went with captain Marvin...he also stopped at Coral Gardens and the Barrier Reef. Great time. I think most tour operators do.
I have heard mixed reviews about Capt. Dexter's reliability.
You also may want to check Bob Sotos or Capt ??? Ebanks (everyone on the island pretty much is an Ebank

We chartered a boat by Captain Ebanks (Roger). Because we have 3 kids (ages 20, 17 and 15) that are all charged adult rates, it didn't cost that much more for the 5 of us to charter a boat. It was WONDERFUL! He took us to the sand bar (better than stingray city because it's not as deep), a place to see lots of lobsters, Coral Gardens, and the Barrier Reef. At the Barrier Reef we snorkeled for over an hour (following along behind the 2 guides/captains), and we even swam with a nurse shark; we also saw barracuda, lobsters, and lots of fish and coral. Captain Ebanks let our 15-year-old son "drive" the boat. It was the best trip we've taken.

Hehehe.....I agree with Kristen about everyone is pretty much an Ebanks......Capt. Marvin's last name is also Ebanks....and Lisa, the manager at the Villas of The Galleon is an Ebanks.......no relation. Seems the Ebanks and the Kirk's have a monopoly on Grand Cayman!
