CAYMAN ISLAND/WESTIN QUESTIONS

I am planning my first trip to the Caymans and have some questions:

1. I will be staying at the Westin in April and want to know if there is still construction noise at the Ritz and whether you can hear the noise from the Westin (I don't know how close these properties are to each other)?
2. How far is Georgetown from the Westin?
3. Are there many outdoor casual places to dine for dinner?
4. IF you stayed at the Westin, did you like the pool--was it tropical, was it big enough, did it get very crowded?

THANKS.

The Weston is near, but not right next to the Ritz. The condos, Villas of the Galleon are in between. I have been told that the major construction is over, and the noise level is not bad.

We are going in Feb and staying at the Villas of Galleon. Personally, I don't think it will be an issue, but you could check with the Ritz to inquire about the progress of construction.

Was there first week of dec. 03. Const is not bad---just welding and so forth. Walls are up. The pool is very nice and big enough. Outside dining is good----Smugglers Cove was really good and water lapping over the coral under your table. G'town is about a 5 minute taxi. You will love Cayman----it was our 3rd trip to the Westin. Have fun!!!!

This may be a strange question but I know the Westin allows small dogs. Did you find this to be a problem in terms of the smell or doggy poop? Also, how were the rooms? I've heard that they are really small. Thanks.

HUGH as in Hugh Hefner or Hugh Grant, or just plain every day Hugh, like Hugh Downs?

We stayed at the Westin Grand Cayman a few years ago and really liked it. The pool area is great - very nice pool bar (great mudslides) and I loved the way the pool area almost blends right into the beach. There are two nice hot tubs at either end as well.

The rooms were standard Westin hotel size - not huge but normal.

We really like a restaurant called the Lighthouse which is on your way if you drive out to Rum Point, which I highly recommend.

Have a great time!

I called the Ritz a few days ago because we are going to be next door the middle of Feb. The Ritz told me they are pretty much doing painting and interior work.
