Barbados Crabs

Can anybody help us? We are booked to go to Barbados in january and a friend has just "warned" us about the huge number of crabs in December and January. Apparently there are hundreds of them that come out at sunset and they go in the restaurants and cover all the pathways. I am hoping this is nonsense.....does anybody know and if so, do you know when the crab season is?

Agree with Virginia.
We took our first trip to Barbados last Feb. & loved it!

We saw only one crab. A favorite memory, we were sitting on the beach next to a stone jetty and some small boys came over and began throwing sand. We then realized they were trying to provoke a crab just a couple of feet away. We'd been there for at least an hour, never saw the crab, but convinced the boys to leave it alone. We then hung out to protect "our" crab and took pictures to commemorate.

Sunsets in Barbados are beautiful and crab free. You'll spot a crab on the beach now and again but nothing extreme at all.

They usually come out early in the morning on the beach but nothing to be alarmed about.
