Aruba in September

Hi - Mu husband and i want to get away for a week but not sure what the seasonality/weather will be like in the 1st 2 weeks of September in Aruba. Will we be putting ourselves on the island during the rainy season?

You should be pretty safe. Aruba is located below the hurricane belt, so it almost never gets hurricanes. You may have a few rainy days if a hurricanes is north of the island, but you can get bad weather anywhere. As far as guarantees go, though, Aruba's the best you can do! We went the first week of October for eight days and had a grand total of four minutes of (light) rain.

We went the first week of Setpember last year (2006) and the weather was perfect. Nice and sunny with tradewinds to keep us cool. (not overly windy) We had 20 minutes of rain the whole week. We walked to the butterfly farm it rained and then it was gone.

It was pretty crowded for the Labor Day weekend, but come Tuesday most everyone left and it was great.

The restuarants are the best part of Aruba! Our three favorites were:

Driftwood (downtown, fresh seafood)
El Gaucho (downtown, best steak ever)
Amazonia (Palm Beach, rodizio churrascaria)

We went AI at the Holiday Inn and enjoyed it, but our favorite outside resturant was Le Petit Cafe. Stone cooked steak and lobster for $29.00 p/p. It was wonderful.

We also went to Texas de Brazil. We enjoyed it. Just eat the salad with your meal so you don't get too full. We signed up before hand on their web-site and received a 2 for 1 coupon. It was worth it.

We also enjoyed the Tropical Havana show at the Wyndham. we were suprised that the included meal was very tasty.

I am not a seafood lover so any other restaurant suggestions are welcome

Just so you know, all of the above suggestions except Driftwood (including all those from KVR and noridog) are NOT seafood restaurants.

I don't remember...so it couldn't have been that painful! I think it was only around $15-20.

not too bad at all. Coming from the NYC area, $20 is a steal!
