Aruba weather forecasts
I leave for Aruba on Thursday 10/21; all the weather forecasts I've come across (Accuweather, CNN)are predicting daily thunderstorms, with max temps of about 87. Are these relable? What has been people's experience as to the accuracy of online weather forecasts for the Caribbean? Also - is there anyone physically there who could comment? I must admit I'm a little bummed about the thought of being rained off the beach...

First off, Aruba is one of the most arid islands in the Caribbean. Online weather forecasts for any island in the Caribbean are notoriously inaccurate. If you looked at them everyday for a year you would swear the sun never shines. What you are seeing are referrences to the unbiquitous tropical rain showers that are usually very localized, very brief and rarely affect anyone's vacation. While no one can guarantee what the weather will be when you are on-island you more than likely will have a greater need for sun block than you will for an umbrella. Forget about the weather and worry about deciding which tropical drink you should have while watching the sunset.

Don't worry about the weather forcasts. They always predict rain and are very rarely correct. I've been to Aruba three times (returning for the fourth in Nov) and the forecasts always said rain for my trips too. If it does rain it usually only lasts 10-15 minutes and is a welcome relief from the heat.
Enjoy Aruba!

Don't fret the weather. You can't do anything about it any way.
So enjoy, Greenie

We went to Aruba and it rained for 5 minutes once in the 8 days we were there. It also was predicted to be a rainy time for us. I wouldn't listen. We just went to the Bahamas two weeks ago. The weather forcasted was rain every day that we were there. It never rained once. Good luck for dry days.

We were in Aruba this year for 9 days and only on one day it rained hard for part of the day with very windy conditions. But the best part of being in Aruba there's so many things to do on that bad day--have a leisurely lunch, go to the spa, go shopping, gamble, join the crowd at a sports bar, etc.
