Ariel Sands or Newstead Hotel as a possible wedding locations.

Has anyone out there stayed at either the Ariel Sands or the Newstead Hotel. Both were recommended to me as possible sites for my wedding in October. I'm not having a large event, just about 30 people and they thought either of these would be great. Any thoughts on these or other locations in Bermuda.

We stayed at the Ariel Sands a couple of years ago over New Years. It was beautiful, and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Newstead is excellent! They have the best view of sunset on the island and their restaurant The Rockfish Grill is one of the islands best. It's not a beach front property but is on harbour and has a watersports center, spa and salon. Very intimate, and cozy.

Just got back from Ariel Sands, and had dinner one night at Newstead (Rockfish Grill). The atmosphere is very different at both places. Ariel is being renovated completely and is done in a modern/Island style - Newstead is a lovely British colonial feeling place.

Ariel would be great for a small wedding as the public areas area quite compact and well spaced - restaurant, bar, pool, and beach are all clustered together without feeling crowded, while cottages are a bit removed from the active area. If you have anyone with handicaps, though, be aware that the cottages are set on the side of a hill and it could be tough to get down to the restaurant area.
