Wedding in 5 weeks

Help!! I am having a wedding in 5 weeks at the Radisson-Cablebeach. I am not real impressed with their service in the wedding department but feel it is too late to change locations. Does anyone have a great idea for a small reception for 12 people? At least we can have a better reception.
Any suggestions would be great.

I just got back from a wedding at the Radisson this weekend. The wedding I attended had 90 guests and was held in the RumRunner room. It was okay. As your party is smaller, you have a lot more flexibility, perhaps you might try Atlantis at Pardise Island--it is a beautiful hotel and they may have private rooms available at one of their many restaurants. Two taxis from the Radisson or a hired car would be an easy transport.

Thanks for your message. I have booked my reception at The Poop Deck. How was the wedding at the Radisson?

I just saw this post and was going to recommend The Poop Deck for the reception. The restaurant is fun, right on the water and the food is very good. They can probably arrange a local band to play.

You might arrange appetizers of local fare, like conch fritters and grouper fingers.

Have a wonderful trip and enjoy!!!

The wedding was nice. Even though it was in the gazebo in the middle of the resort it was by a waterfall, so we couldn't hear the noise from the other guests at the pools (we also couldn't hear the ceramony, but que cera cera). As your wedding party is smaller, I imagine that you might have yours on the beach to the side. I would suggest having it as late as possible if you can--it is much cooler and there are fewer people out at that time so it may feel a little more intimate.

i just attended a wedding on st. thomas. after the reception everyone, a group of 40, boarded a small sailing yacht (well probably 60') and took an champagne sunset cruise. it was really a delightful and peaceful way to end the day. with a group of 12 this could be a very doable thing. congratulations and have a wonderful wedding!

Thank you for all your responses. Our wedding is on the beach but at 1pm, the only time available, even though I booked the wedding last April. We are doing a sunset cruise but opted for the next evening after the wedding.
