All-inclusive in the carribean
My fiance and I are both in our early twenties. We are looking for an all-inclusive resort in the Carribean or Mexico for our honeymoon in June. Our budget is $4,000-$5,000 for one week.
We are looking for a tropical place where there is a lot of activities (i.e. nightlife, shopping, great sites to see) but where we can also relax on a great beach and spend some time at the spa. It would be great to get massages on the beach in the evening.
Must have nice restaurants. Any suggestions?

botkink....Does your $4-5K include airfare? There are some very nice properties in Playa del Carmen south of Cancun. Here is what a friend found for the same time period. These figures are without air fare.Excellence Riviers: $1,625 per person;Royal Hideaway $2,000 per person;Secrets Capri $1,550 pp;Xpu-Ha Palace $1,350 pp; Azul Blue $2,050 pp.All of these places are located in the Playa Corridor, rates are for hotel only, all inlcusive, and do include hotel tax and airport transfers.Generally speaking, BUT as always there are exceptions, air fare to the Caribbean will be more expensive than airfare to Cancun. There are other properties in the Playa del Carmen area, all inclusive, that are less luxurious and of course have lower costs.Best of Luck!

Check out the Roayl Playa Del Carmen (formerly called the Royal Porto Real). It is right in Playa del Carmen, just a short walk from all the clubs, etc. if you want to enjoy the local night life. The beach is great and so is the food. As of this past Dec., it became more or less an adults only resort as children under 14 are not permitted.

I would vote for Playa Del Carmen area. There are some great AI in that area and the town of Playa Del Carmen is a great place to shop and bar hop. If we knew where you would be flying from people could give you more choices. I have been to St. Lucia and Mexico and I would vote for Mexico hands down for the beaches. I also think Mexico has better night life and you will also have more choices for AI in Mexico.
I usually pay around $1000-$1500pp for a really nice AI including airfare from Baltimore.

You will not find an AI in Turks & Caicos for that budget. There are only 3; Beaches, Coral Gardens and Club Med. You might with Club Med, but you don't want that for a honeymoon. St. Lucia might be pushing it if you stay at a Sandals property and depending on what room catagory you get.
I agree with anywhere in Playa del Carmen. I also second the Royal Playa del Carmen. We've been trying to go there for awhile. Hopefully will get there this year. The Royal Hidaway, Secrets Capri and Excellance gets great reviews.
Aruba also fits your criteria. Look at the Tamarijn, Divi, Occidental, Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa, the Westin and RIU Palace.
