My husband and I went last June for our Honeymoon- this is most beautiful romantic place we both have ever been to!! You will have nice weather- it is truly a special place!! You will feel like you are the only two on the island. When we were there if it rained it was only a for a short time and then quickly became sunny- it actually rained one evening - I want to go back!!

I'm happy to read that some of you have been married at Cap Juluca! My fiance and I are narrowing down our list of possible wedding locations, and CJ is at the top of our list so far. Can someone tell me whether the wedding coordinator there is helpful and responsive? So far, I have just traded emails with Verna, but she seems on top of things. Also, do you know of any other, less expensive (less than $300 per night) hotels or villas close to CJ where some of my guests could stay? Finally, does anyone have tips on planning a wedding at CJ? What time of day to have the ceremony/reception, which ceremony location to choose, etc.? Thank you so much!

Hi Nadaker
You do not say when you are getting married at Cap Juluca, but AMCS Ltd., which is a wholly owned company of Cap Juluca Holdings will open a new hotel on Shoal Bay East on October 15th, 2005. The name is Ku. Ku apparently is Arawak Indian for sacred place and it was named this because Shoal Bay is so close to the Fountain Cave with its ancient Arawak Indian ceremonial grounds. The hotel will have 27 beachfront or beachview suites, it will be very South Beach meets St. Barts. The accommodatons will be all white with accents of pale aqua, lilac and lavender. Apparently there will be a beach restaurant and bar, dancing under the stars some nights during the week and over the weekend, a large beachfront freshwater swimming pool, a dive center, petit spa, gym, provisions store and boutique and will cater to a younger crowd who will like the ambience of a livelier shoal bay both at lunch and at dinner. At night it will be lit by lanterns all over the property. I understand that the suites will be half the price of Cap Juluca's rooms in season. Sounds quite a unique idea for Anguilla and different from the other hotels. A friend got hold of their email address last week to find out more info, I think the email address is [email protected].
It certainly sits on a magnificent beach so should be a good addition. This might be an excellent idea for your guests who do not want to pay the steep prices of CJ but still have the same good service etc.

We got married on the Beach at Cap this May. All went very well. You can also get married on the Wedding Lawn, we opted for the beach. Our wedding time was at 5.30pm,and we opted for the sunset cruise option (Diamond Wedding) we had pastor Macdonna (what a nice man) and Sproka (Excellant). We were in Villa 1/room1 Jnr Suite....Wow great bathroom, I just walked out of the room straight on the beach, were my husband was standing under a arch of Bouginvilla. I could not wanted more from my wedding day!!!! Excellant service from Verna!! places to stay near buy La sirenna,I have also stayed there. Good luck with your wedding!! Great spot great hotel!!! White Sand ..Blue clear sea!! what more do u want?? Now Pam Fillery!

Can someone offer what it costs to get married at CJ? Also what should someone expect to pay for a trip from Atlanta and say 5 nights or so? Something basic...I realize it is going to be expensive, just trying to get an idea. Thanks in advance.

Can't help but ask if anyone knows if the CJ "new hotel" is Shoal Bay Beach Hotel, which CJ purchased recently? We stayed there in 2000, it was a gorgeous location, but the place needed a face lift badly. I read from poster "OT" that CJ had bought it and was fixing it up. Any info out there? What a fantastic mix that would be CJ style on that beach. CArol

Well, just answered my own question-yes it is SBBH that will be the new "Ku" opening in Oct. 2005. A google seach brought up the articles if anyone is interested. There was an 800 #, when I called, it was a recorded message identifing it as the Shoal Bay Beach Hotel. This will be a huge success I believe. I will be booking our trip for July 06....
