Whistler in September

We will be doing a "whirlwind" tour of the Pacific Norhtwest at the end of September, and one of the possibilities is a side trip to Whistler, BC (from the US) to experience the Sea to Sky Hiway. A few questions. I was looking into the Delta Whistler Resort, anyone have any experiences? It looks nice (and reasonable at the end of September). Also, what other things are a "must-see" along the hiway to Whistler?

The Delta is good, the Delta Whistler Suites is better, and in Sept. check the rates at the Westin, great property if you can get a good rate.Cheers, Al

We travel to lots of winter ski resorts in the summer...Been to Stowe VT, Vail CO, Whistler BC...We found Whistler very disappointing. Very very big pedestrian Alpine village, but not very pretty and built up with lots of junky touristy stores. Can't tell you anything about "must-see's" along the way, because we travelled directly up from Vancouver. If you can, get over to Victoria on Vancouver Island. It's a seaside jewel. Enjoy.

We fell in love with Whistler and extended our stay! Stay away from Creekside though since it is undergoing major construction and you have to drive or shuttle to the Village. The shops in the Village are anything but tacky although most are chain stores that you are familiar with like The Gap etc. The drive up to Whistler is one of the nicest scenic drives in the world. Enjoy!!!
