Whistler-Blackcomb

After reading a great article on the area, we decided to spend our summer vacation in this area. Since we will be there for a week, we'd prefer a condo over a hotel. Does anyone have any suggestions for a clean, affordable condo not far from all the activities? We are not planning on renting a car.

Thanks

Teener, our family loves Whistler in the summer - we've been visiting every summer for the past 4 or 5 years. Our kids (12 and 17) like to stay in the Village itself (walking distance to the skateboard park, etc. and amenities).

We've stayed at the Tantalus Lodge which boasts of having Whistler's largest 2 bdrm/2 bathroom suites, see http://www.tantaluslodge.com/. It's a 3 or 4 min walk to Whistler Village, and was great. Have also stayed at the Delta's Whistler Village Inn and Suites, right in the heart of Whistler - http://www.whistlervillageinn.com/wh...llage_inn.html - great location, accommodation pretty good, a little worn around the edges when we stayed a few years ago, but a great price. Also right in Whistler Village is the Mountainside Lodge which is comparable to WVI&S but we liked it better - http://www.the-hotels.com/pages/cana...side-lodge.htm. And lastly, we stayed at The Legends at Creekside, approx. a 5 min drive to Whistler Village but in its own mini village and on walking paths to Whistler Village. Much pricier though.

Have a great holiday,
Linda

Linda,
Thanks for the info. We are looking forward to visiting the area. It was the only place we could all agree on. It seems to have something for all of us.

Hi teener,
I would recommend a condo in Stoney Creek, especially North Star, if you can. They have a great poll, and it is a short walk to the village. You won't need a car. Try not to stay in the main village> They are renovating the square and 3 different buildings , so there will be a lot of construction noise and dust. It shouldn't stop you from going, you just have to know where to stay. Cheers, Al

We love the Carlton Lodge condos - great location in the Village! Good rates. Nice one and two bedroom condos. The ones on the mountain side all have balconies. The village side have nice windows with down valley views.

You can read my review at http://www.scubamom.com/travels/whistler/carlton/

We usually go during ski season but I'll be returning this August.
