Whistler Where to stay w/ family of 5

Can anyone please advise me of where to stay in Whistler in mid December. We would like a condo close to the ski lifts (500-1000 mtrs). Any restaurant reccomendations for a family with 3 children ages 16,13,8 would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi 11thchild,

Your nightly budget will focus you in the right direction but our family of four have stayed at several condo units, including:
- the Tantalus Lodge which boasts of having Whistler's largest 2 bdrm/2 bathroom suites, see www.tantaluslodge.com/. It's a 3 or 4 min walk to Whistler Village, and was great.
- the Delta's Whistler Village Inn and Suites, right in the heart of Whistler - http://www.whistlervillageinn.com/wh...llage_inn.html - great location, accommodation pretty good, a little worn around the edges when we stayed a few years ago, but a great price for our loft unit.
- also right in Whistler Village is the Mountainside Lodge which is comparable to WVI&S but we liked it better - http://www.the-hotels.com/pages/cana...side-lodge.htm.
- we've also stayed at The Legends at Creekside, approx. a 5 min drive to Whistler Village but with lifts that link up to the main ski runs. It's in its own mini village and on walking paths to Whistler Village. We adults really liked it, the boys missed the liveliness of Whistler Village. Much pricier though.

A few thoughts,

Cheers,

Linda

Hi, Try www.alluradirect.com or www.resortquest.com for privately owned condos near the lifts. The absolute best locations are Snowy Creek,( very pricey) The Gables, or Carleton Lodge. All have 3 and 4 bedroom units. Cheers, Al

We always stay at the Carlton Lodge that has the best "lift" location in Whistler Village - just steps from both and if you get a mountainside unit, the views are 180 degrees up the mountain.

I've done an extensive review of our ski trips there at www.scubamom.com/travels/ - take the Whistler link.

have fun - great place to go! (we'll be going back in January).

We like to stay at The Aspens on Blackcomb. True ski-in ski-out. Slopeside on Blackcomb. One building up from Chateau Whistler.
Great for families.

Our family rented an executive townhome right next to the village. It was super elegant and had a bunk room for kids. You can find info at http://www.mesamisllc.com
We loved it so much we already reserved a week for next February
