which city?
I'm not, for Vancouver - when I get there I will see what is available and if I have time to attend. otherwise you should be able to just walk around - that is what I am banking on anyway.

I was asking about the Montreal Jazz Fest; we are going to be there July 5,6, & 7 and were wondering what the $40 "ticket" that was being sold really did; is there an area that you need a ticket to hear music?
Thanks

Entrance to the Montreal Jazz fest is free - you just walk over to St Catherine Street and dig the music. However, $40 sounds about right for one of the 'top name' indoor concerts that are part of the festival. There are many many performances going on all day - the outdoor ones are free, most of the indoor ones require a ticket.

Individual tickets are sold for each event. Go here for more info:

I've never stayed at this hotel, but I am familiar with the area. It's in the old city, right on the port ( I walked right past it yesterday). This is a touristy, busy area with lots of charm.
