Halifax Airport Accomodation
My parents will be flying into Nova Scotia in late June (Halifax International Airport) and won't arrive until after eleven that night. They intend to head out the next day for Cape Breton and want to avoid driving into Halifax the first night. We can't find much info on cheaper accomodations in the vicinity of the airport.
Any advice on this one? Are there any towns nearby with the usual motel chains that won't charge for overnight parking or over $100 a night?
Thank-you!

Well, the only hotels in close proximity (within 10 minutes) would be the Airport Hotel or the Inn on the Lake. Downsview Motel in Lower Sackville (approx 20 minutes towards Halifax) is an option but not high end at all! Would they be interested in a B&B? A little further and they could stay just on the outskirts of Halifax at Bayers Lake.

My mom and I will also be flying into Halifax Airport late at night and are staying at a nearby B&B overnight. The B&B's e-mail address is [email protected] and Judy Nielsen is the proprietor. They have several rooms -- one has a queen bed with ensuite bath for $85 CDN and others share a hall bath for less. All rooms include breakfast. Hope this helps!

The hotel at Halifax airport is extremely convenient and offers a free shuttle service. It's not terribly pricey and if your parents are renting a car, they can pick up the car the next day instead upon arrival. For convenience with a late arrival, it's hard to beat.
