Take a cab from Buffalo airport to NF, Canada. It's a very short cab ride.

Huh? It's 26 miles from the airport to Niagara Falls, NY not counting crossing the border. I don't think that's a cheap cab ride.

So, you can "cab it" for 1/2 hour or "train it" for an hour an a half. Or, you cld call an airport shuttle service like Niagara Airbus & see if they wld cost less than than a cab. If you take the train you will have the cost of the taxi to the train station, then the cost of the train, then a taxi from the train station to wherever you are going in NF, Canada.

So, how do they get back, BAK? That's weird that they do not pick up. Maybe take these guys from BUF & then Niagara Airbus back to BUF?

Just get a rental car at the airport... with some comparative shopping, you can get a great price and don't have to worry about a per person rate or transportation around Niagara... I have never heard of anyone having customs problems with a rental car, so just check your car insurance to guarantee coverage and have fun!

rE>So, how do they get back, BAK?<

They get back by hiring a Canadian company that has the legal right, licensed by the city of Niagara Falls, to make pickups there.

Generally, airports and communities mmake rules about who can pick up passengers, but let out of town operators drop off passengers.

I've also just been researching this and to be honest have found that for a top tourist destination the options are either totally confusing or not laid out clearly in any website. I need to go the other way to Buffalo airport from NF, Ontario and have decided to go by Greyhound to their stop in Buffalo and then the local bus to the airport.
I emailed a couple of shuttle companies and didn't get any satisfactory replies, they are either not interested or too busy to bother, probably the latter. If I was used to driving on the right hand side of the road, quite frankly I wouldn't hesitate to hire a car.
I put up the cost with one shuttle company's website and 372.00 came up, this kind of nonsense is of no help to anyone.
Good luck, and any other suggestions on this topic gratefully received.

If it costs $40.00 per person for the shuttle to get to a hotel on the Canadian side, does anyone know what the Canadian companies charge for the return trip to Buffalo Airport?

I live about 25 miles from Buffalo and Niagar Falls so am fairly familiar with the area. I was amazed to find how difficult it was to get to Niagara Falls, Ont via public transport as we usually drive to the airport. Train & bus schedules were deadly. The vans seemed expensive and after checking out the alternatives listed under transportation at the Airport website Taxi 5-0 seems to be a firm that will connect you both ways. They have tel# for Fort Erie 1-905-994-8294 & Niagara Falls
1-905-358-3232, plus you can contact via the airport website.
My guess is the expense for transport is tied to the fact you have to go thru customs either at Fort Erie or at Niagara Falls. This can be costly if traffic is backed up - on weekends or holidays.(SO ask for a flat rate) Most days the traffic moves fairly quickly but we have had 30 minute waits the odd time on returning to Canada. If you can drive - a rental car may be the best option to get you to & from the airport. The roads - the I-90 to QEW in Canada or the 290 to Niagara Falls NY are easily travelled. If you have time in Ont. a drive down along the Niagara Blvd is beautiful, to Niagara-on-the-Lake. An historic picturesque town (similar to your Williamsburg Va). Lots to do -in the area if you are travelling as a tourist. Niagara is great wine country with a lot of world wide award winning wineries in the area. We are famous for our ice wines. There is a large Casino in N.F. ON - check out if they have a shuttle service and what that entails. They advertise a lot in Buffalo so probably have some connecting mode of transport to the casino but again maybe customs & immigration would be the negating factors for them to provide transport.Good luck!
