Tour suggestions Vancouver-Victoria return

G'day all! Have been reading the forum and the Internet and still a little confused.

We (Aussie couple in our 50's) will be in Vancouver (end of June) and plan on catching a ferry across to Victoria for a couple of days (and then returning to Vancouver).

We are looking for "a tour" that will:
* Pick us up from a Vancouver hotel and take us to the ferry
* Include the ferry trip across to Victoria
* Transport us to a Victoria hotel
and then vice-versa back to Vancouver.

We would like to see Butchart Gardens and possibly a "city tour".

Any suggestions of a tour/company that will do this?

Pacific Coach advised they don't drop off at Victoria hotels. As we are lugging suitcases around we would prefer to keep this 'streamlined' with the one organisation.

Thanks in advance for any help you can send our way!

Cheers

Try Gray Lines (www.graylines.ca) they might have what you're looking for.

I don't know of a tour off-hand. It's easy to get busses to Butchart's though. Do you have any idea what hotel you'll be staying at in Victoria?

there r taxi's usually at the bus depot which is right downtown in Victoria. Many of the hotels r within comfortable wheeling distance . the whole Victoria area is quite compact and very easy to navigate independently if u r so inclined. not sure u need a "tour"
cheers

When you get here to Victoria, you will realise why 50 foot busses do not go from hotel to hotel. Taxis are the answer. Taxi from your Vancouver hotel to the PCL terminal. Your luggage stays on the bus while you are on the ferry. The bus drives right on. In Victoria the taxis are waiting to take you to your hotel.
On the Victoria side, it is only 20 feet from the bus to the taxi.
Grey Line tour busses will take you to Butcharts from downtown ( sans luggage ).
Hope you enjoy your stay and as always, pack a raincoat.

Hi JG,
When in Vancouver a few days after a cruise, spouse and I signed up for a day tour to Victoria through the concierge in our hotel lobby. The tour co. met us diretcl in hotel lobby. We departed early morning, driving to ferry over to V.Island. Our day tour consisted of lunch at rest Inner Harbor in town, trip to Butchart Gardens, and touring the outskirts of Vic. The tour company brought us right back to hotel in early evening. The tour company had small busses so it was convenient for them... ferry ride over. I'll have to look up the name of tour co. and get back w/you. All in all the trip was well worth it. As it turned out, we fell in love w/the island which prompted another vacation a few years later for a month's stay on the island.
Regards, Francie

JG,

Here I am again with the info on our tour, ref post #1 above.

The tour bus company is ~Landsea Tours.~

http://www.vancouvertours.com/index.html

The busses carry 24 passengers w/driver who is also your guide.
Am not sure if they will or can drop you off at hotel once in Victoria. Of course you could ask this question beforehand. As I remember, there was about 1-1/2 hr. we were alloted time to shop. The bus parked at the Inner Harbor for that time period. Perhaps you could get off here, after your tour, catch a taxi to wherever you want to go?

Hopes this helps.

Enjoy Victoria.
