Please help with a few quick questions about Victoria before we leave on our trip.
We are leaving in 2 days for a trip to Canada and a few questions remain.
DH and I will be going by bus from Vancouver to Victoria for 2 nights, then walking on the ferry to Seattle to fly home.
1.Do we need reservations for the bus from Vancouver or as ferry walk-ons from Victoria to Seattle (June 14 and 16)?
2.Any reasons to rent a car in Victoria for such a short time. We want to go to Butchart Gardens but assume we can go by bus. No hotel in Victoria yet; still working on it.
3. Any chance anyone knows if there is any place to check luggage in Seattle, perhaps near ferry station? We do not want to time the ferry trip too close to our flight time. We are leaving late at night on a red eye.
Thanks much

1. No need for reservation on bus from Vancouver to Victoria. Just show up at the bus terminal 30 to 45 minutes prior to bus leaving. They put on as many buses as are required to get everyone onboard.
2. No reason to rent a car in Victoria. For $7.00 (each way)you can catch a Greyline bus out to the Gardens and spend as much time as you want out there and then catch the bus back. They also offer actual tours, but then you're stuck to their schedule. There is a Greyline kiosk right in front of the Empress Hotel.
Sorry can't answer your questions on Seattle.

You do not need reservations for the bus from Vancouver to Victoria. They always put on as many as they need so if you are there in good time no problem. The ferry to Seattle is the Clipper and here is their website http://www.clippervacations.com/ You will probably need a reservation for that. There is an 800 number to call as well as a lot of other info regarding Victoria attractions etc. Perhaps someone at the Clipper can advise you re luggage storage. You do not need a car in Victoria. There are buses to the gardens. You don't need to take a tour bus to get to Butchart either. When you get off the bus at the terminal in Victoria you can find out about the schedule for the shuttle that runs to the Gardens.

Thanks much. In case anyone else finds this through a search, I just talked to someone at Victoria Clipper and found out there is luggage storage at their terminal for $1 a bag.
Now all I need is a hotel in Victoria and we are all set.
