We just returned from Quebec City. We stayed at Hotel Dominion and LOVED it. We considered Chateau Frontenac but for the price difference we opted for Dominion. It's a small hotel with great service. Small rooms but they offer breakfast in bed at no charge!

Sandy,
We have stayed at Hotel Dominion twice; for a total of 13 nights the past two years. We have never stayed at Chateau Frontenac.
Subjective opinion: when returning to QC we would prefer Dominion. It's a smaller hotel and we enjoy the less hectic location. In addition, after touring Frontenac, their hotel rooms have many, many categories (and varying prices). If making reservations at Dominion, you will speak with the owner (who sometimes actually works the front desk) or concierge. It is a smaller hotel; you will receive more personalized service.
I have posted (on Fodorsand other travel boards) high praise for Hotel Dominion in the past. The rooms are wonderful; the linens exquisite; the staff above par; the complimentary, expanded continental breakfast is terrific and the location is ideal.
If you prefer a large hotel offering 24 hr./room service, you would enjoy staying at Frontenac. If you prefer personal service, you would enjoy the Dominion.

Hello. We had considered the Chateau Frontenac for our pre-QE 2 cruise stay this August in QC; but then discovered the Auberge St. Antoine (down on the waterfront). It's a former warehouse from 1820 that is now a chic boutique hotel with each room a different theme. The prices were MUCH lower than the grande dame Chateau Frontenac.

Has anyone ever stayed at this hotel?

MB
NYC
