car rental in Saint John?

We will be in Saint John on Oct. 25 for one day on our cruise. Is there anywhere by the dock to rent a car for the day? We don't want to spend the day on a bus; we'd prefer to be on our own.

st john is a very small island. there are colorful jeepneys that can transport you anywhere within the island for about $1/ride. i don't see any car rental shops there.

Saint John is also a major port for Eastern Canada. Last time I was there, I didn't notice any jeepneys for rent.

For the OP, the cruise dock is right downtown, and I am sure that there are car rentals available very close to it.

This link may help you.

Im not sure where anaheimwoman is referring to but you can definitely rent a car in Saint John New Brunswick. You could easily travel to St. Martins or Saint Andrews for the day.

I'll bet the folks in Saint John wished that they had the same weather as the Virgin Islands and maybe they could even get some jeepneys!!!

A lovely spot to visit is St. Martin's - and yes, it is in New Brunswick! The small village is just 20 minutes outside of Saint John - couple of covered bridges, sea caves, etc. Not sure if much will be open in late October, but sure the locals can tell you.
