Acadia NP and New Breton, NS trip
My husband and I are thinking about combining a trip to Acadia NP (we have visited twice, adore it, but don't need to spend a full week there) with a visit up to the Cape Breton area. Any suggestions about how much time to allow (we were thinking 7-8 days for the total)and possible itinerary. We are active seniors who love hiking and appreciate good food.

It looks like it's about 550 miles between BH and Baddeck, Nova Scotia. I think if you're planning on about a week, you need to pick one or the other. It's been a few years, but we really enjoyed Cape Breton, it's just a lot harder to get to than Acadia from our home in PA.

Yes, it is a long drive - about 600+ miles to the Cabot Trail. You might consider Fundy Nat'l Park (for hiking) and Prince Edward Island for gently rolling farm lands. This would be a couple of hundred miles short of the Cape Breton area.
