My parents are visiting me will be staying for 3 days. They're in their 60s and this is their 2nd visit. I'm confused where to take them. im looking for relaxing activities and food joints near the CBD, because that's where I live. We have visited the zoo, blue mountains, Opera House, and some pubs and cafes in the CBD.

All suggestions are welcome.

Our family live in the northern beaches and one of the most enjoyable aspects of going to stay is the ferry ride from Circular Quay to Manly. It ha stop be one of the most scenic (and cheapest!) boat rides in the world and is a journey we never tire of. We would probably do it just for fun even if we weren't staying there. Maybe take them out for the day to one of the beaches in Manly, plenty of decent restaurants there too. Keep meaning to do the same to Bondi or somewhere else but never get around to it.

Also very impressed with Sydney zoo when we too our grandson there , though apparently he is now less than impressed now the gondola ride has closed down!

Agree that a ferry ride is terrific. Manly has lots of places to eat and you can walk along the beach path. We caught a ferry to the stop near Doyles, which used to be famous for fish and chips. We didn't eat there, but the walks were good. The walk from Bondi Beach to Coogee is good but it really depends on their interests and fitness levels. Search for Sydney Coastal walks, there are lots. The NSW art gallery is good if that's of interest to them.

There is a little tearoom in The Rocks area for tea and scones. Touristy but nice. Called something like The Tea Cosy. Seating is outside.

How exciting to have your parents visiting again! Since they’ve already done some of the big tourist spots, maybe try something more relaxing this time. You could take them for a peaceful walk around the Royal Botanic Garden or a ferry ride to Manly for a chilled day by the beach. For food, you can't go wrong with a leisurely brunch at The Grounds of Alexandria or some waterfront dining at Barangaroo. Maybe even check out some of the art galleries or museums if they enjoy that sort of thing.
