Silky Oaks Lodge

Is the Silky Oaks a good choice? It seems pretty expensive but if it is worth it I would consider. Is the location ok or is it too far from Port Douglas? Thanks for your help in advance.

We stayed there this past October and really liked it. Great food. Unique property.

Loved the place two years ago (it was being renovated at the time). They may have a van that goes into Prt Douglas but the advantage of staying at Silky is being enveloped by the rainforest experience. You can also take a great tour to Daintree from there as well as go out to the reef ( we did that from Port Douglas not from Silky). If you want/need to be in the center of activity, it is not the place for you. FYI, Abercrombie and Kent tours also stay there.
