What's your price range?

go to www.wotif.com (last minute pricing)
2 weeks prior to departure
They have 5 Star city accom at fantastic rates. Try the Heritage, Mariott, Casino, Hilton, Sheraton etc..

Hi, Shooshy
When we visit Brisbane we stay at the Royal Albert. It is close to everything, being on the corner of Albert and Elizabeth Streets. Check it out on www.atlantisproperties.com.au or www.queenslandholidays.com.au/brisbane
Have a wonderful 2 nights in Brissy shopping, etc. Will be a good time I'm sure.

Thanks for suggestions! We have been advised to stay at the Marriott as Brisbanes nicest hotel.Do you Brisbane experts agree? We do want 5 star as this is a well earned indulgent break for 4 overworked Mums(we think so anyway!)Thanks all.

Hi Shooshy. I have stayed at the Mariot. It is a beautiful new hotel with stunning views. I think you will approve.

It is pretty close to the city but not exactly at its doorstep. ie. if you were to walk to the casino it would take about 20 mins. But it's a very quick/cheap cab ride ;-)

If you were to stay at the hilton, also a very nice hotel but not as nice as the marriot, you would be situated in the queen street mall. You are in middle of everything!

Personally I'd always choose the Marriot over the hilton but if that little walk concerns you the Hilton is worth considering.

Steer clear of the sheraton. It's like staying at an old hosptial. Not fond of it.

Hi, jShooshy, glad you'll be staying in the Marriott. I was just on the point of recommending it - it's not only got nice rooms, but it also has The Dome Day Spa where you could get a nice relaxing facial or massage or something after shopping. It's not a long walk to the Queen Street Mall for shopping.

It is 10-15 mins walk to the mall. I wasn't trying to discourage you from staying at the Mariot btw. Just letting you know your options ;-)
