Cairns Airport transportation

Any suggestions on affordable transportation from Cairns airport to Port Douglas. I assume it's 45 min to 1 hour ride? Also, any hier end hotel/resort suggestions & info in PD? Sheraton, Marriott, Westin etc.?

Its about 1 hour drive to port Douglas from the airport. There are several companies that offer minibus transfers to your hotel at about $25 per person one way. Follow the transport links at www.pddt.com.au or www.tropicalaustralia.com.au<BR>The top end hotel is the Mirage, but I think you'd be better off with one of the boutique hotels closer to the town. You can search through the above web sites

we are staying at the peninsula hotel right at the end of four mile beach. they provide transportation back and forth to cairns if you need it. It is about 125 american dollars per night but it is suppose to be great. Only 34 suites in the whole place. check them out at www. peninsula hotel.com. Bruce

You quote $125 per night for Peninsula Hotel. That's a great price? Can you please tell me where you found this rate? Thanks

There are local buses from the airport to Port Douglas - Coral Coaches is the name of one company. Will take around an hour, more if the bus stops in Palm Cove along the way.
