ymca hong kong

Have read some really good reviews of the ymca . There are 3 of us so considering a suite, has any one any advice on these. The suite with harbour view is an executive suite, considering this at the moment but interested to hear from anyone who has styed in rooms without the harbour view.

Thanks for any advice

i wouldn't get too excited about the harbor view...if i could save money without it i would....you will see plenty of it in other ways

thanks fro the quick reply. Harbour view suite is HK$200 more. We are only staying one night on the way over to Australia so Think it may not be worth the extra then. We are staying 2 nights on the way back. Also considering The Sheraton but as 2 in our group require single rooms it works out a lot more expensive for them, although the rate for 3 of us in a room is good.
decisions!!
Thanks
Julie

HK$200 is about US$26. If you are talking about the Salisbury Road YMCA I think the extra $25 is definately worth it. That is a million dollar view that people next door to you in the Penn are paying prime price for...

I'd agree completely that HK$200 is worth it. However, do keep in mind that the view is blocked somewhat by the museum across the street -- the lower you are in the YMCA, the less of the harbor that you'll see.

Also, there are at least 2 YxCA hotels in Hong Kong; be sure that you reserve at the Salisbury Rd Y.

another near-by alternative would be the kowloon hotel...it is directly in back of the peninsula hotel and is owned by them...i stayed there last year and was quite pleased...don't know if they have triples...great location and fabulous dim sum restaurant in the basement....near the salisbury y

Thanks for all the advice , I think we will go with the YMCA,they ahve been very efficient at repying to my e-mails too.. always helps. We are going to have a family suite on the way out and an executive suite with harbour view on the way back, will havea bit more time to appreciate it then.
THanks
Julie
