Hotel for 11 nights In Hong Kong
My husband and I hope to have 11 nights in Hong Kong from 5th - 16th March 07. I'm looking for a decent hotel in the £100/$200/1500HKD sort of price range. I've already tried the Salisbury YMCA but they are booked up. Ideally, we'd love a harbour view but I do realise that for the sort of price we can afford that is unlikely. Would like to be close to an MTR and would prefer to be on Hong Kong Island.
There is just so much information out there that I would really appreciate your thoughts.

Typically, when people want a harbor view, they want to be on Kowloon so they get the view of Hong Kong Island.
On the Kowloon side (which is where the Salisbury is) have you looked at the Sheraton - some of their rooms have harbor views - or the Intercontinental?

I look around a little, and the rates are very high at many hotels at that price range. Most hotels with harbor view costs around HK$2,000 during that period.
If you want to be on HK Island and close to MTR, try one of those in Causeway Bay and Tin Hau - Excelsior, Parklane, Regal HK, Metropark, Rosedale, L'Hotel, etc. $200 should get you a city-view or parkview room at one of those.

I can recommend the Rosedale on the Park. Not sure about the harbour view. We could kind of see the harbour out the window but I wouldn't really call that a harbour view. As for the price, they had a "long staying" package for people staying 7 nights or longer. Because of that we upgraded to a junior suite which was great for our 11 night stay in October. Check it out.
The Rosedale is located on the edge of Causeway Bay and we loved its location!

A cheap option would be Novotel

this is a bit out of the Centre, but has a harbour view & on Hong Kong side. Mixed reviews on trip advisor.

I think you are in Uk as you quoted your budget in £s - have a look at Trailfinders here
http://hotels.trailfinders.com/Hong-...ng-Kong-Island
after so many nights you get upgrade - it might be worth checking out.

On Kowloon side you could look at the Park and the Miramar. Neither will have harbour views but may fit into your price level. I have stayed at both and was quite happy. Our room at the Miramar had a great view over Kowloon park opposite.

I HIGHLY recommend the Holiday Inn Express at Causeway Bay. It's close to the MTR, Times Square shopping centre, and is relatively cheap, around 1000HKD.
Rooms are great and it gets glowing reviews on TripAdvisor.
