emd, I saw our quotes in the Tokyo book a couple of days ago, at the B&N in Reston. You, hobbes, and I are on the same page.

Bill, what the heck were you doing in Reston? Looking for the Reston Japanese place with the bunch of young guys chowing down?

I have not seen the 2007 Japan book. You and me on the same page is cool, a bit of serendipity.

Hey everyone who was quoted:

I was doing some searching today and found this piece from Katie (the Fodor's editor above)online. I stumbled upon this completely accidentally while doing research on something completely different. It says that those who are quoted in the new Japan or China editions of the Fodors guides can have a free copy of that guide sent to them or any other Fodors guide of their choice.

See this info and instructions here:

Thanks, emd!

Katie -- I wasn't quoted in the China guide but was in the Shanghai 1st edition. Does that qualify me for a free guide? Xie Xie!

good question, as I was in Tokyo but not Japan! emd is listed twice in the Japan list, so she gets two.

I received my copy today. I think I was quoted 5-6 times.

I have not gotten anything yet. I emailed Katie H and told her I'd like to get the Mexico guide instead, as I already have the Japan guide and I have been traveling in Mexico again after many years away from there, but no response so far. Then today I realized Fodors has no Mexico guidebook at all. That really surprised me.

I e-mailed Katie, instead of the Shanghai edition, I asked for the China edition and received it yesterday. Thank you Katie and Fodor's!
