Bangkok Boutique Hotel

Hi
I am new to this forum and was impressed with your generosity to share your experiences!
I am going on my honeymoon in 3 weeks in Thailand and will be staying at the Sandalwood Villas in Koh Samui for 4 days and then on to Bangkok for 3 days. I have been looking at the Bangkok Boutique Hotel but have not found any reviews anywhere..
Have any of you been there and would you recommend it?

i do not find this hotel when i do a search on line....does it have another name?? i am suspect of a hotel with this kind of name.....its like a hotel that calls itself: bangkok luxuary hotel or bangkok five stars hotel....

where is it located...

there are many wonderful places in bangkok....many of us prefer places along the river for its essence of bangkok feel...

for a honeymoon i prefer one of the big glitzy places like the oriental or the peninsula or the shangri-la....for a slightly less expensive but yet bkk feel i always suggest the marriott resort and spa...then there are places like ibrik and davis, but some of these offer very little service and are often in out of the way places where transportation is more difficult...

do not underestimate your transportation issues...i stayed in june at an up river hotel that was extremely inconvenient and costly each and every time we left or returned there....lots of time can be wasted with such a location...

to better advise you we need to know something about your budget and your wants...

I did find some information about the hotel (it is the right name) and it says it's a 3 1/2 star hotel. I agree with Bob that for a honeymoon I think you can do much better -- either by staying at one of the small hotels like the Ibrik or at one of the deluxe hotels on the river. Since this is low season you should be able to get very good rates at the latter. The Bangkok Boutique Hotel sounds pretty basic to me. Hotels in Bangkok are incredible value and it's your honeymoon. You can stay someplace really wonderful for very little. So if you let us know your budget and what you're looking for in a hotel, we can make suggestions.

yup, everything is a gimick. I should open a boutique that has acces to ipods. atkins menues and those basterdized cofee's..

as a disclosier, I do own a Ipod. (bought it before the hype hit). And some of those mutant coffees sure are yummy but my close connection too Juan Valdez sciews my opinion a bit.

I travel extensively and stay in big hotels all the time...my idea of a place for a hoenymoon is where there are NO conference centers and an intimate feel. I called at Ibrik and they are full ...If nobody has ever stayed at the Bangkok Boutique Hotel maybe I will take one for the team and try it! I admit the name is a bit lame but the website shows fabulous pictures www.bangkokboutiquehotel.com
It is located on 241 Sukhumvit 21 (ASOKE) Klongtoeynue, Wattana, Bangkok, Thailand 10110...Is that a good location??

asoke is a huge street that intersects with another huge street called sukhumvit...it is a very central location and very busy....in that area and not far away is one of the major adult entertainment centers...so if the marriage has not worked out you will be all set....sorry i just had to say that....

i would consider it a good location for getting around but not necessarily a good honeymoon area....it may be noisy until all hours but it may not be too....

look at the davis hotel....

bangkok and intimate do not belong in the same sentence so it is sort of difficult...

make sure you go to dinner at the bed supper club however which is on soi 11, sukhumvit not far from that hotel...res. necessary....

i would still try to stay on the river in one of the nicer hotels---peninsula comes to mind as one of the least business like and oriental as well...

some of the serviced apartments might also fit you bill...the marriott mayfair and the centre point are two good ones...

jufo, I know a perfect place for you if you want intimate, very romantic, and lot of Thai atmosphere.

It's called the Chakrabongse Villas. It only has 3 rooms and is right on the river in the most magical setting I've ever seen in Bangkok. The location is perfect for sightseeing with Wat Arun directly across and the Grand Palace within walking distance. I stayed in the Riverside Villa, the most expensive room. The view is just amazing. The prices are a bit steep in peak season, but there are special rates off-season. They are almost always booked up. thaivillas.com

Ibrik is very nice and special, but they are very popular and almost always full.

I've never heard of the Bangkok Boutique Hotel.

the location is actualy not that great it is way up ASOKE. and this is long long rd.. Ive been stuck in traffic for an hour from new Petchaburi too the suk intersection see try too stay away from taxis durring rush hour. NOTE the government have past a new sceem where there going too let the trafic in every major avanue take a LONGER time to reduce trafic.. yes it makes no scence

If you stay at the bangkok boutique use "new petch" MRT walking down to "sukquot; may drain ya before you get anywhere.

Thanks for the advice,
I have been looking into serviced apartment and found the Riverfront Residence www.riverfrontbangkok.com.
It's located on 912 Rama 3 Road,Bangpongpang, Yannawa, Bangkok.
Once again I have found no reviews...
The goal of my visit to Bangkok is sightseeing so I don't expect to be in my room too much so I want to spend a max of 2,500 baht and would like something centrally located so I don't waste too much time commuting.
Thanks for your help.

the part of rama III that i am familiar with is sort of out of the way...its the road that i take to the airport often from the marriott...it leads from the bridge next to the marriott way out around the outskirts of some of the center of town...not sure if it would our would not be convenient...i think it would mean a taxi every thime you left there....no skytrain that i can think of anywheres near to it...

Original poster...look into the Chateau de Bangkok by Sofitel...an Accor Hotel. It's a hotel and serviced apartment building. I stayed there Aug 2004 and paid 1500Baht before tax... 1800+Baht after tax...a night... for a junior suite with kitchenette...a large fridge/large microwave oven...lots of cabinets and stainless steel counters and sink. Plus there was a coffee maker in the room with coffee and dishes in the kitchenette cabinets. There's a pool on the roof top and a laundry room where you can do your own laundry. It was spotlessly clean. It's no more than a 300-meter walk from the Ploenchit skytrain station that runs along Sukhumvit(street). Why stay in a place that has no reviews written when there are so many nice places to stay in Bangkok? Plus as for not wanting to be in your room very much...well Bangkok is not like Europe, for example, where you are out non-stop morning, noon, and night therefore the room doesn't matter much. It's roasting hot in Bangkok and it's nice to be able to go back to a decent place and relax/shower/have a nice snack and possibly take a quick nap before going out again.Happy Travels!
