Thailand - Three days on my own. Ideas??
Later this month I will be going to Thailand for the second time. Last visit I spent ten days in Bangkok. This trip will include Phuket, Kanchanaburi, and possibly Chiang Mai. My traveling companions will leave for home a little before me, so I have 3-4 days on my own to do whatever I would like. I enjoy history and culture, sightseeing, shopping, eating, relaxing, nature, etc. Actually, I enjoy almost anything! Any suggestions for three days on my own?

Yes, we will spend the majority of our time in Bangkok, including the last few days of the trip. I'm not sure if I should spend the final days on my own in BKK (maybe lolling by the pool at the Marriott Resort and Spa?) or taking a quick trip elsewhere. Any suggestions? Something I can easily handle on my own...

Visit the Prasart Museum. You must make reservations ahead of time. Then you arrange a driver, we used Julie's Taxi. A normal taxi will have no idea of how to get there. It's a private collection that is stunning and well worth the time.

I just topped a thread about shopping in Bangkok. Enjoy the read. You will find shopping in BKK to be awesome. Some of it is very upscale, but a lot of it is very reasonable, with lots of things you just don't see anywhere else. Have fun.

Thanks to all of you for your ideas and suggestions for the final three days of my trip. By that time, I will have seen most of the usual tourist sites. Any more ideas for places or activities that are a little bit different? Something that you don't usually find in the guide books...
