Thai Airways Premium Economy vs. Economy

Hi,
I am looking to book my roundtrip ticket from JFK to Bangkok and wanted to hear some thoughts/opinions on Premium economy versus economy. Its about $300 per ticket more which if its really more comfortable I am fine with but I havent really found any reviews on this topic and would be interested to hear.
Thanks!

According to Seatguru.com, premium economy has 6" greater distance between seats ("pitch&quot and the PE seats are 1.6" wider. PE seats also have leg rests and 122 degrees of recline. The seat configuration in PE is 2-3-2 whereas in economy it is 2-4-2.

Thanks. Yeah I have checked out seat guru was just looking for anyone's actual experience in either economy or premium economy.
Also have heard that sometimes they have a plane change on the return leg and you end up in economy even when purchasing premium economy.
Thanks

There have been lots of reviews on this board of Premium economy on Thai. Search for it here.

Recently flew JFK-BKK and back. Premium Economy 1 way and Business the other. I can say that I was just as comfortable in Premium as I was in Business. The seat didn't turn into a bed, but it reclined far enough for me to get plenty of sleep. If you do Premium Economy try not to get the middle of 3 seats, you might as well be stuck in economy. Definitely worth the $300.

I flew this JFK-BKK and return in November 2005, maybe I was overly impressed because I have never flown business or first class, but for an additional $300 it is a no brainer for me. However, the service BKK-JFK was not nearly as good as it was going over there. on the return, I was hungry in the middle of the flight and went to the galley to ask for some Ramen noodles and the stew was not overly accomdating. but alas, I would still fly PE anyday.

The PE is well worth it with or without the Ramen noodles.

I've flown both classes on the L.A.-Bangkok route. The $300. difference, in Premium Economy, is definitely worth it. I've recently bought a ticket in Premium Economy for a future trip and paid a little under $300. more than regular economy. You had better jump on it because when that $300. difference is no longer available...like sold out or not sold out, but closer to your departure date, then trust me... the difference in the price is going to hike way...way...up. Happy Travels!

Oh, and I forgot to add...one usually doesn't get the crying kids in Premium Economy and 17.5 hours...non-stop...is a long time up in the air. Happy Travels!
