Hi Guenmai: We loved the Tawandang Brewery.

Next trip we might try Isaan Therd Terng, it's mentioned in the Time Out Bangkok book. Not geared toward tourists, all signs in Thai. Techno plays overture to a morlam showcase.

Time Out Bangkok, edition 2005
re: Isaan Therd Terng

104 Thanon Somdet Phra Pinklao, near Pata Pinklao, Thonburi
Shows 9:30 pm-1pm daily
"This broad, dark room provides a taste of home (both musical and culinary) to migrant Isaan workers, taxi drivers, bar girls and off-duty men in uniform. Techno plays overture to a morlam showcase from 9 pm with wild costumes most nights, and a full-scale morlam likay productions on the first and 15th of each month. Not geared to tourists. All signs in Thai."

I am a big fan of the Tawandang Brewery!

My boyfriend and I went to the original one in Feb. I will be sure to visit when I return in Nov.!

I went to the rama tawangdang a couple of weeks ago to attend someone's birthday. Unfortunately, the party was large and we were places in the top floor. I couldn't see a thing (which is not a shock if you know me) but others had to stand up to view the show.

The place was not bad. the price of food was moderate and beer was actually inexpensive and very good.

In general that's not my kind of venue. but as I get older I can see myself going to this place more often.

I think this place offers a very good value for a "nights out"

but the thing I liked most about tawangdang was the MENS bathroom it smelled. and looked like a sauna. I felt very relaxed when I left the bathroom, or maybe the good feeling was do to something else.
