Small Hotel in or round Tokyo?

I'm planning a one week trip to Tokyo in late July and I am looking for a small and charming - maybe traditional japanese - Hotel in or round Tokyo.

Can you help me?

Or: Do you know about a travel guide with especially this type of hotels in Japan in it? Something like "Guide de Charme"...

Thank you,
Edward

Nearly every hotel in Japan is small. Also Tokyo is huge so you should decide which part you want to be around.

We stayed at the Ryokan Shigetsu in the Asakusa district of Tokyo - our first trip to Japan just last month. We chose this on the advice of Frommers and MANY on this board. Were very pleased. It is very modern and impeccibly clean, yet very Japanese atmosphere. It was perfect for our family of 4. We had a Japanese style room with ensuite bath. I really liked that we had a sleeping area with futons out all day (so we could take afternoon naps) and a separate sitting area with both western-style chairs plus a low table with floor pillows. Choice of western or Japanese style rooms and optional breakfast, also choice of Japanese or western breakfasts.

It is in a very quaint area of Tokyo, yet convenient to the subways so you can go anywhere you want in the city.
