New BKK airport
Just received my copy of Conde Naste October 25. It says the new BKK Suvarnabhumi Airport, due to open in 2006 will feature a high-speed rail link and five
alternative routes to the city center to circumvent the nortorious traffic.

Great. I fly in on 6/6/06 and out on 6/24/6. Looks like I will get to see both airports (if they actually open on time). This also makes me worry about connecting intra-country flights. I heard that those would be leaving from the old airport.

Evidently there are many bugs to iron out before the airport can open to the public. Among those are frogs and birds and runways that are cracking! I need to read today's Bangkok Post to see if there are any reports on the fly in that supposedly took place yesterday.

lol-- I actually have been ignoring this thread. Just checked it! From what I hear in terms of the new airports distance to the Oriental (or any our "our" hotels) those limo prices are going to be on a par with Tokyo!
