Need Bangkok hotel with BTS access

we just spent 2 nites at the Asia hotel on the beginning of our holiday. next week we spend 3 nights at the Marriott resort and spa before heading to chiang mai then koh phiphi and phuket.
question is...we have 2 or 3 nights on our return in bangkok without a reservation.
after spending our nites at the asia hotel..i prefer not to return there...dingy dark room with a view of the hotel next doors wall(if the window could have been opened, i could have reached out and touched the wall).
any suggestions for $50 night rooms on bts line, near shopping and food that include breakfast? i am searching websites but the prices have risen for nov 1st.

take a look at the ambassador hotel on suk soi 11. about a 8min. walk to nana bts. i think a deluxe room with breakfast is about $32-38.

$50 for all the things ya want is not easy too find. there seems too be a premium for staying near the BTS.

it's also hard to know if a place will have a nice view. every pramotional picture of a hotel always has the sarounding buildings "deleted" out.

most mid rang places along sukhunvit and silom are going for about $60

sala dang place is a serviced apartment. near silom rd. it is about a 3 minut walk to the bts and subway system. also right tons of nighlife. and a block away from lumpini park.. includes breakfest for about $55+

if you don't choose the ambasador which is also a tourist class hotel like the asia hotel you will either have too bump up your budget or be willing too walk an extra couple of minutes to get to the BTS

I'm not sure if they'll have it in Nov, but the Landmark often has a 2-nights for-one special at $107 total for the two nights. Landmark is a beautiful hotel about a 30 second walk from the Nana BTS station.
Unobstructed views, great service, wonderful rooms and one of the best buffet breakfasts in Bangkok. It's a great hotel!

I have friends who have twice (2003,2004) stayed at the Windsor Suites on Sukumvit Soi 20. The price was $55 through sawadee.com, including breakfast. The room is actually a mini-suite, with a separate living area. They liked it very much, and thought the breakfast was excellent. It's very near the BTS (2 blocks?)

I was looking at suggestg the windsor suites myself they seem too be offer a 2 night plus breakfest and airport tranfers for about $60 per person. www.asiatravel.com.

the 2 blocks a bit longish though.. but walkable. maybe about 4-5 miunt walk or less (not to many vendors int that part of sukhunvit..

this place has always seemed like a great value to me but it is never mentioned on fodors it is the Formor EMBASY SUITES.

I know abbreviations are great but I'm finding myself not knowing what is being referred to. What is bts?
