Kathie, if you're still in Chiang Mai, you might want to visit to Wat Umong. I think you'll like it.
Re Ratchamanka - Thanks for the information. I assumed it was probably like the Tamarind - promises a lot more on the outside than it delivers on the inside (same designer). Although I understand Tamarind Village got a makeover this year to enlarge the rooms.

mjs, Cheryl and I plan to see you in the Club tonight. I'll wear one of my Jim Thompson t-shirts... Cheryl too. SO if you see two baby boomers in JT t-shirts having too much fun, that's us!
Michael, we're back to Bangkok now. Thanks for the Wat recommendation. We'll have to see it next time around.
Guenmai, we did look at Jade. Lily had some, not a lot. We looked at Orchid Jade in CM. They had quite a bit, varying quality, but their prices are very high. If you go, bargain hard!
Oh, good news! The China House re-opened yesterday! We're having a belated birthday meal there tomorrow.
