How many visa photos??

The reason you've heard different numbers is because different immigration officials will ask for different numbers. I'd take a total of four photos each, as Lao and Cambodian immigration may ask for one or two. It's always useful to have some extra photos. Even if I don't anticipate using them, I make sure I have a couple in my carry on.

Get one passport picture. Scan it. Copy it and paste on a new page. Repeat till the page is full of pictures of you [always a pleasing sight]. Put lovely shiny paper in your printer.
Print.
E visa will save you, oh, about 5 minutes of your valuable time - but if it makes you feel comfortable...
I've seen people in both Siem Reap and L.P. go thru immigration with no photos at all on four occasions [not that I suggest you try that!]
Enjoy your trip. 26 more sleeps!

geesh! How annoying is this.
I tried on 2 different occasions to fill out the online visa app and it wouldn't go to the next page where you enter the cc info. After the second time of filling out all the info I decided that someone was tryig to tell me something.
I'll wait in line......
dogster! boo hoo. I don't have a scanner.
I'll just have some photos taken a Costco I guess...
yep....26 more sleepy sleeps. It's starting to register that we're on our way to a major adventure!
whoo hoo

Yeah, just do the line. Ain't no big deal. You've already spent longer on the E-visa form than you'll spend in line.
Tip: try and get a seat near the exit of the plane so you're off first. The forms are tiny and take forever to fill out [in triplicate, if I remember] so make sure it's all done on the plane.
There is a pre-paid taxi booth outside should you need transport to town.
