hotels in Tokyo few choices
Dear travel buffs, I would appreciate some help for July we need a hotel for 3 people in one room near Ginza. Please advise on Park Hotel in Shiadome 25th floor or Ginza Garden. Also for the return trip we want a hotel in Rappongi what do you think is better, B Rappongi! or Hotel Villa Fontaine, based on location, size of room and look.

As far as room size goes, we don't like to go smaller than 30 m2 for the 3 of us (2 adults and 1 child). An extra bed in that size room makes it quite tight. Smaller room than that for more than an overnighter with no luggage will be very, very squeezy.
Do you mean Mitsui Garden Ginza? Room sizes are here http://www.gardenhotels.co.jp/eng/ginza/rooms.html
Park Hotel rooms are also small. Although they list a triple room option, they do not indicate size...their largest twin is 33 m2, and I would guess a triple is that with an extra bed. You may want to call or e-mail and ask them.
Park Hotel is in Shiodome, not the Ginza. Close, but not Ginza.
B Roppongi, all except Deluxe Plus are tiny. http://www.ishinhotels.com/theb-roppongi/en/stay.html
Villa Fontaine Roppongi only lists room size for their Superior rooms (20 m2). You may want to contact them and ask about room size. Only their twin rooms are able to accommodate 3 people.
All of the hotels you mention are quite similar. They are "upmarket" business hotels that are often used by tourists as well. Room size is small across the board unless you book their best rooms, which you may have to do to get a triple. You might check some of the nicer hotels too, as the better rooms at these places are often the same price as a room at a nicer hotel with facilities. All are pretty near subway, too. I would just pick the one that says they can actually give you a room for the 3 of you at a price that you like, maybe choose the biggest room.

thanks for all your help, it seems that we may be able to get a good rate at the Conrad in a larger room. We may stay at the B Rappongi for one night on the last leg of our trip on our way back to Toronto just to be in a new area.

Conrad rates are more than the Peninsula, but it isn't in the same league as the Peninsula, nor is it as well located.
In that price range, the Peninsula has a summer promo rate that is very good. Have a look at their website for that. Virtuoso rates there include breakfast for 2 daily, upgrade upon arrival if available and a ¥10,000 food and beverage credit (per stay), which is a very good value in the luxury class. You need to book a Virtuoso rate via a Virtuoso agent.
We have stayed at the Conrad, and it is fine, not great, but fine. Rooms are the same as in the Conrad Bangkok with the difference of a few Japanese touches in place of the Thai touches in Bangkok. The rooms will be about double the size of the other places you list, but a lot of that space is taken up by the bathroom and toilet area, leaving not so much space for an extra bed. Service is cool to cold, with what I observed to be a strong preference to businessmen over leisure travelers. Restaurants are spendy, very spendy, more spendy than the Peninsula's. That said, we will spend one night there again in September after two nights at the Peninsula. I would not stay there is I were paying money rather than points though.

I agree with an earlier poster about the Roppongi hotels.
B is in a good location and rooms are modern, but very very small.
The Hotel Villa Fontaine in Roppongi is a nice 3 to 4 star hotel in a good location.
We stay at the Oakwood Roppongi T-cube, and apartment building, because we stay for a week at a time, and the entrance from the train station takes you through a building that is the same one you get to the Villa Fontaine from.
It's easy to get places from that train station.
The Villa Fontaine has also recently taken over another hotel around the corner, and they call it their "Annex", so you could be in either building. I'm under the impression the annex is a little cheaper, but it is still quite well-located and the rooms look nice and it may be less expensive than staying in the main hotel.
Anyway, Villa Fontaine would easily be my choice.
If the hotel you are talking about in Shiodome is the Park Hotel in the Shiodome Media Tower, then yes, it's very nice, and reasonably well located to the area.
If you are talking about the other Park Hotel, which I think is called Park Tower or something like that, it tends to get bad reviews from what I've seen.
Have a great time!
