I have to add that I felt a little under the weather while visiting Hanoi (something I ate at the Green Tangerine, perhaps?) and the Sofitel Metropole was the perfect hotel to be "sick" at....we ate dinner at the Club level one night because I didn't feel like going out and it was great...so was the breakfast (toast never tasted so good!) And the room was large, luxurious and comfortable to sleep in. It may sound like a strange attribute for a room....but after being sick while at a budget hotel in Barcelona, I've come to appreciate a room that you don't mind being in for awhile and one that offers either good room service or an on-site restaurant.

My vote is for Metropole! Have very happy memories of our stay there. But then, haven't been to Elegance...
