Hanoi / Saigon Hotels etc. Help
Hotel Recommendations Please
I see that in Saigon the Majestic, Caravelle and Renaissance Hotels are all frequently recommended here.
I need some Hanoi hotel recommendations that are well located and priced between $50-80.
Same goes for Sapa, Hue and Hoi An please.
Many thanks.

I liked the DeSyloia in Hanoi. I believe you can get a regular room for that price. Try www.asiahotels.com

Try the Salute and WIN in Hanoi, the Lele in HCMC, and the Lotus in Hoi An.
Check out www.vietnamstay.com .... they always get good reports for bookings.

Whew, Mitch04, I am glad to see that somebody besides me is recommending vietnamstay.com. I have recommended them in several posts the past couple weeks, and I was fearing somebody was going to accuse me any minute of being a front for them. We just really had a good experience with them, and I couldn't beat their prices anywhere on the internet (their price quotes include taxes and breakfast).
Saulmax, we stayed at the Century Riverside in Hue. It was a lovely hotel. We had the garden view suite for $63. Only complaint was no overhead lights, making the rooms rather dim at night and no room safe.
In Hoi An, I highly recommend you stay at the Hoi An Hotel. The location is excellent, right in the ancient city, where you will be spending your time, very convenient to many wonderful restaurants. It is a 4 star hotel.

We had the deluxe room for $50, which included taxes and a fabulous breakfast buffet. Look at the deluxe room on the above website. That photo doesn't do it justice. Our room was even better than that.
Hoi An Hotel was not even the hotel I had selected. Vietnamstay picked it out for me after a couple of others turned out to be booked for our dates. It turned out to be the best place we stayed.

We just returned from a trip to Vietnam and greatly enjoyed the Ha An Hotel in Hoi An. It is very close to the Life Resort, is a fairly small hotel and had a fabulous buffet breakfast. Rooms were $45. I do not recommend the hotel we stayed at in Hanoi, which was the Nam Phuong Hotel.

Saigon Morin in Hue. Or don't book one and go to travel agent in Hue. There is one right down from the Morin (I forget the name) and it is great. The name is "Something?? Cafe". I booked a lot through them. In Hoi An, I stayed at the Thu Thoy Glory. OK hotel. Not too far from the market.
